Katrina’s project revolves around storytelling in visual art, specifically when it comes to abstract work, being shapes, forms, and lines, depicting no obvious subject. Katrina curiously explored what others understand from abstract work. Through research, she sought to make use of the results as a source of inspiration. Her response to these results includes working on the piece in a timed environment, using no references or images as influences as much as possible. Her preferred medium is mixed media where colour and texture are central to her compositions. The aim of this project is to challenge the viewer and trigger their imagination when viewing Katrina’s work.
