Dominique’s work focuses mainly on life and death, an inevitable cycle of birth, growth and demise. Her approach to painting is highly expressive using bold, aggressive marks hinting elements of figures and environments that create a sense of confusion and disturbance. Dominique uses charcoal, burnt wood and paper, paint, old photographs and poetry for her mixed media works to explore the psychological, and transmit melancholic feelings inspired by one’s experiences. Her current project is about her life journey, reflecting and reacting to it through drawings, interventions on photographs and poetry; an assemblage of objects and creations she mounts on a wall.
