Revolving around biker communities in Malta, this project explores them through their clothing and its meaning. Semiotics – the study of signs and symbols – is a crucial factor in identifying these communities in that different biker groups are identified with different styles of clothing, colours, and themes. The aim of this project is to portray the characteristics of identity of these communities and the differences between them, making each group distinctive compared to the other. These characteristics are represented through the use of portraiture, in which each portrait represents an individual from each biker group.
